Rev. Lawson J. Boddie is the Pastor / Founder of Word of Life Christian Fellowship Inc. After having served the Jacksonville area in full time ministry for twelve years, Pastor Boddie brings experience and expertise to the pastorate along with a personal commitment to Integrity and Excellence in ministry. His leadership can be experienced from the piano to the pulpit as he is a capable and anointed preacher / teacher, worship leader and musician.

Under the leadership of the late Dr. E.E. Taylor, Pastor Boddie accepted Christ as Savior early and was given opportunity to develop in ministry as a youth by being afforded to serve as Sunday School Superintendent, convention delegate and deacon in training. Pastor Boddie was licensed to preach in 1996 at the Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under Dr. Walter H. Johnson. He later was ordained while serving at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Inc. Dr. John E. Guns, Senior Pastor. It was while serving under Dr. Guns that Pastor Boddie was released to plant the St. Paul Church of Gainesville, Inc. in 2004. By the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Boddie returned to Jacksonville to start the Word of Life Christian Fellowship in 2005.

His ministry experiences prior to the Pastorate include: Minister of Music of Community Baptist Church Jacksonville, FL, Minister of Music of Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church Jacksonville, FL, Co-Pastor of CTMBC Mission Jacksonville, FL and Pastor of Worship for St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Inc. Other experience includes Director of Music for Union Progressive Baptist Association, and Music Director within the Florida General Baptist Convention. Professionally, Pastor Boddie has served as a choral director for Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and assistant choral director of the Ribault Senior High School Singing Trojans.

Pastor Boddie was reared and educated in the private school system of Jacksonville, FL. He furthered his education as a dual high school and collegiate vocal major at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL. His education continued in the Music Education program at Jacksonville University where he served as a student conductor.

He is married to the former Monique Reed (now Min. Monique Boddie), his affectionate love and ministry partner for 6 years prior to their marriage. To their union they have one daughter, Melody Michelle and one son Lawson J. Boddie II (LJ).
